Chicago – 1988

In 1988 a group of eighteen people from across the northwest Chicago suburbs had a vision to start Harvest Bible Chapel. The church met in Rolling Meadows with James MacDonald as the Senior Pastor. Today, over 10,000 people call this church their home as they worship Christ together on three campuses.
In 2000, Harvest planted their first church in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and announced the vision to start 10 churches in 10 years. Harvest Bible Fellowship was formed to edify, protect, encourage, and support these new churches. By early 2007 God had raised up 19 Harvest Bible Chapels throughout North America and into Eastern Europe.

In 2005, a small group of believers began praying that God would move in southern Florida in a fresh, new way. As they were moving forward in faith, God connected them with Harvest Bible Chapel in Rolling Meadows and together they decided to become the first Harvest Bible Chapel in Florida. They began meeting together weekly, watching DVD’s of James MacDonald while they awaited a senior pastor. In June 2007, Jeremy Hill was named senior pastor and his family relocated from the Chicago area to officially launch Harvest Bible Chapel Jupiter.

On September 23, 2007, Harvest opened for its first Sunday morning service at Dwyer High School. One year later, the Lord opened the door in the Jupiter community and services now meet at Jupiter High School. As we now look back at over two years, God has been tremendously faithful to us through both adversity and times of blessing. He is surely at work among us and moving in our community. As we move forward, our prayer is that lives will be changed as men and women grow as disciples of Jesus Christ.

Harvest Bible Fellowship

Harvest Bible Fellowship was formed in 2002 as an independent, non-profit association with a passion for Jesus Christ and a mission to act on His vision to build His church. The Fellowship plants churches and builds relationships among church leaders that edify, protect, encourage and support.

Each Harvest Bible Chapel is an elder-governed church that has no central office above and beyond the local congregation. Any influence the Fellowship has over each church is granted by that church's leaders. The Fellowship intentionally seeks to influence by relationship, not by mandate. That influence is earned through frequent interactions with church leaders and through special events such as Harvest University, Straight Up Conference and HBC elders retreats.

When a new church is planted, the Fellowship acts as overseers of the new church in its first 12 months after public launch. After that year, the church's senior pastor and the Fellowship choose elders from within the local congregation.

The Fellowship is committed to helping pastors and other church leaders fulfill their call to make, baptize and teach followers of Jesus Christ. The call demands a radical love for the Lord and His people. The Fellowship seeks to pour into church leaders so their work yields fruit and joy that feed heart, soul and mind.
